Removing the veils

TRUTH. What is TRUTH? What makes something TRUTHFUL? Can TRUTH be different to different people? And if so is it then not TRUTH?

I pause for a moment to go and find a dictionary to look up the word TRUTH. The first dictionary I pick up doesn't even contain the word (funny, does that mean it doesn't exist?), I pick up an old, ancient copy of Collins pocket dictionary and hooray, we have success.

Here's the dictionary meaning. Truth (trooth) 1. The quality of being TRUE. Well, that doesn't tell me much so I look up TRUE. 1. In accordance with fact; not false. Okay, so what makes something factual....I look up FACT. 1. A thing that has happened or is TRUE. Great, so now we have the full meaning...surely? Okay, I will give it a go, based upon the dictionary meaning. The quality of being in accordance with something that has happened. Makes sense to me....yeah right!

What it does explain to me is why TRUTH is different to different people. Why I can fully believe something and hold it in my heart as my TRUTH and someone else can have a totally opposing viewpoint on the very same topic. Neither of us is RIGHT or WRONG!!! We just believe what we believe based upon our own experiences, our own beliefs, our own interpretations and therefore TRUTH is only TRUTH for the person that believes it is TRUTH.

So, what is my truth?

- I believe LOVE is the most powerful tool we have.
- I believe FEAR is the absence of love and fear doesn't exist when love is present.
- I believe HATE is really only FEAR and it only needs love for it to NOT exist - ever.
- I believe that there is nothing LOVE cannot do and armed with that and only that we can all create miracles in our lives.

That is my TRUTH, that is what I believe. What about you? What is YOUR TRUTH? And where do you get your TRUTH from?

Do you get your TRUTH from what you read in the papers?
Do you get your TRUTH from what you hear on the radio?
Do you get your TRUTH from what you watch on TV?

What about your family, your friends, your work colleagues - surely they always tell you their TRUTH?
What about people in power, trusted people, trusted organisations - the government, the doctors, the drug companies, the health practitioners, they are only telling you their TRUTH surely?

What I ask is that you ask yourself what is YOUR TRUTH? What do you believe to be TRUE and continue to hold that line of questioning every time you receive information about anything. Ask yourself...is this MY TRUTH? It's okay if someone else believes it to be their truth, in fact it's okay if most of the population believe it to be true, it doesn't mean it has to be your TRUTH.

It is time to remove the veils, it is time to connect with our own TRUTH, our soul truth and allow ourselves to be guided by that and not by someone else who is only telling you their own truth based upon their life experiences.

It's time to remove the veils and know that people believe what they believe based upon their life experiences and it doesn't make it TRUTH just because someone believes it to be so. It only makes it truth (your truth) when YOU believe it to be so. And I believe the only way to know whether something is true or not is to connect with our heart and ask ourselves...is this MY TRUTH? But hey, that's my truth.

Year of the RAT

After two, Fire years life may seem calmer during this Earth year. That could be deceptive, however, as the Rat never stops moving, especially when it comes to mental activity.

Unfortunately Earth has a destructive relationship with the Rat's fixed element, Water. This is not disastrous, but it does mean people should not rely too much on luck this year.

On the other hand the combination of Earth and Rat is extremely positive when it comes to achieving results. The Rat tends to take a lot of risks, while Earth is associated with practicality and stability. This creates balance and can lead to good profits, increased productivity and all sorts of accomplishments. And, under Earth's influence there could be fewer scandals than in other, Rat years.

The Rat is the first sign of the Chinese zodiac and signifies new beginnings. This year is thus an appropriate time to start new ventures, especially groundbreakings. This includes new ideas, directions, and ways of doing things. It is a time to experiment and put plans into action, as there will be plenty of opportunities to achieve success. Something to consider is that which is begun now is likely to have long term consequences, so choose wisely to enrich your life.

Interestingly this is an equally good time for thinking and all kinds of intellectual endeavors. Planning, scholarship and research, for example, are favorable activities. It is also an auspicious time for the arts; although, under Earth's influence, applied arts such as design and graphics may do best.

Earth favors those who are tied to the land, do a lot of routine work, deal with practical matters, or perform work of a spiritual nature. Looking at the characteristics of both Earth and Rat it could be a very good year for those with careers in business, construction, engineering, academia, planning and the clergy.

There is likely to be a focus on career and self improvement this year to the detriment of family. People thus need to be attentive and creative so that this area does not suffer. It is, however, a relatively good time to begin a new romance. Those in a relationship may want to consider raising it to the next level, to include marriage.

Since this is an Earth year those people born in a Metal year will generally fare better than others of their animal sign, while those born in a Water year are likely to do worse than those born in Wood, Fire, and Earth years.

Health issues vary not only by sign but by each individual. Your best bet is to visit a Chinese doctor to have your balances checked and get some advice for the coming year. It is an Earth year, so one thing we can say in general is to get enough exercise and be on the alert for unwanted weight gains. Inactivity could lead to problems.

The year 2008 will be a year of possibilities, a time of progress; although, it may not generally be spectacular. Those who take the biggest risks could be disappointed. Everyone should, nevertheless, add something new to their life.
