Light in the darkness
In the stillness of the early morning I sit to write
with the moon guiding, supporting and giving me strength
I begin...
How does one find the stillness in every day?
How does one gain wisdom and insight without the ever
constant delving into the shadows?
How does one grow and evolve if life only ever presents
the light and not the darkness?
The answer is simply...one doesn't.
Life often serves up curve balls. You know the ones.
They come seemingly from nowhere and knock you flat
for what can seem like an eternity, however in the
scheme of life it really is just a moment. Just a
moment when your life is seemingly out of control
(your control) and it would seem as if you will never
laugh or feel joy within you again. Then, just as
quickly as the moment was upon us, the moment passes.
If one is used to questioning the events of their
life, one may find themselves provided with answers
as to why that needed to happen or they may receive
great learning's from experiencing such a thing. If
one isn't in the habit of questioning, I guess, they
simply move on and life continues to move and shape
them as it does. I am one who questions life. I always
look for the answers in the situations I find myself
in. I always go inwards in search of the meaning.
Sometimes I find, there is no apparent answer. Sometimes
I find, I come up empty. My search for 'why' returns
me nothing and it is at those times when all I can
do is trust. Trust that at some point my life will
reveal to me why something came to pass. My life will
reveal to me why that experience, that pain, needed
to be felt. Trust, yes, that can be a challenge in
itself. How can one trust that all is how it is meant
to be for the highest good of ones soul when that
'one' doesn't even yet understand why that would be
so!
That is where faith steps in. Faith is truly amazing.
To have faith when all around you is seemingly crumbling,
when all you can see is hardship and challenges. When
all you can see is sadness and pain. Faith is the
beacon in the darkness. It exists because it does.
There is always a light shining, no matter how dark
the world has seemingly become. There has to be. Simple
as that. There has to be.
One doesn't exist without the other. If you find yourself
surround by darkness at this time, this truly amazing
time on this planet, then look for that one tiny beacon.
Look for that one flicker in the darkness and know
there is a way through. There is always a way through,
even if all seems lost, if all seems dark. There is
always a way through.
Regardless of whether you trust or have faith or ar
just seemingly oblivious to what you are drawing into
your life at this time as an experience, know that
life is made up of opposites. Good. Bad. Hot. Cold.
Up. Down. The list goes on. Whatever experience you
find yourself in...the opposite to that experience,
to that feeling lies waiting in the shadows (or the
light). There are always blessings to be had if only
we choose to open our heart and let them in.
Know that within every experience, every heartache,
every ounce of sadness, the opposite to that is waiting
for you to discover it, to embrace it, to let it in
so it can grow and become larger in your experience.
The more you let in. The more will reveal itself to
you and before you know it the light that was only
a tiny flicker in the darkness and been replaced by
an ever abundant light with only a flicker of darkness
(and so the opposite to that is true).
Whenever your life serves you a curve ball, remember
to look for the tiny flicker of light in the darkness
and let it guide and support you through. And...if
you don't have the strength to find the light in your
situation, simply walk outside when the night is dark
and still and look up into the sky and your light
will be there...waiting!
Much love, many blessings Julianne xxx
